Dr. Eric Hardy
Doctor
Dr. Eric Hardy decided to become a dentist as a young boy. At an early age he knew that he wanted a job where he could help people and after spending some time with his dentist uncle, he knew it was the career for him. Dentistry gave him the opportunity to combine several passions— Helping people, working skillfully with his hands, science, and technology.
“My philosophy is simple. I believe in the ‘golden rule’ in life and in dentistry- I treat people and their mouths as I would like to be treated. I treat everyone who sits in my chair as if I would treat my own family.”
“I enjoy dentistry because of the feeling I get inside when I help someone. Whether it is treating someone with a toothache, restoring a smile with cosmetic dentistry, or something as simple as a filling, I really like to help the person on the other end of those teeth.” Dr Hardy grew up in a military family. His family was able to live and travel all over the world. His parents retired to Tucson in the early 1990s and he has considered himself a Tucsonan ever since. After graduating from dental school in 2003, Dr. Hardy joined the United States Air Force and practiced dentistry as a military officer for five years. During this time he provided dentistry to our armed forces members in Ohio, Korea, and Florida. After completing his military service, he moved back to Tucson to join our team of dentists at Dental Care on Golf Links. Outside of his practice, Dr. Hardy enjoys spending time with his family. He enjoys many outdoor activies, and spends much of his free time hiking around Arizona’s beautiful hiking trails. His hobbies include hiking, backpacking, running, skiing, bird hunting, and photography.

Dr. Jared Kahl
Doctor
Growing up, Jared Kahl never thought about a career in dentistry. In high school he was on track for a career in business, until he had orthodontic treatment by his family dentist. He rarely smiled due to his crooked front teeth. After orthodontics, he now smiles all the time. Dentistry not only improved his smile but it also improved his self-image. It was then that Dr. Kahl thought if he could help just one person the way he was helped, a career in dentistry would be more fulfilling than business. Not only does he enjoy providing care for his patients at the office, he enjoys volunteering as well. He participates in Give Kids a Smile Day, Hope Fest and in 2006 he traveled to El Salvador as a member of a United States Air Force humanitarian medical/dental mission.
For ten days he provided dental care and oral health education to citizens of El Salvador without access to dental care. Dr. Kahl says “Volunteering my time to educate and improve the overall oral health of individuals who otherwise may not receive dental care is one of the most rewarding aspects of my profession.” Dr Kahl came to Arizona in 2004 by way of Davis-Monthan AFB. He originally grew up in Montana. During dental school, he joined the USAF. Upon graduation, he completed a one year general dentistry residency at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. After three and a half years of service, Dr. Kahl separated from the USAF and decided to make Tucson home. He became a partner in Dental Care on Golf Links in January, 2010.
“I have opportunities to improve people’s lives every day”, says Dr. Kahl. “The patient’s expression after creating a new smile and their gratitude makes going to the office enjoyable.”
Outside of dentistry Jared enjoys many activities. He travels back to Montana to see his family, goes on hikes with his one year old boxer Stella, and he recently began learning how to play the piano. His main passion however is golf. On the weekends, your best chance of finding him is on a golf course.

Year Started at DCGL: Although I started with DCGL in 2024, I’m not new to dentistry. I’m a seasoned dental professional who began as a dental assistant in 1994 and went on to graduate from Dental Hygiene School at Pima Community College in 2014.
What do you do at DCGL? Being a Dental Hygienist is like being a tooth fairy in a lab coat. I get to uncover plaque and tartar while making the world a brighter place, one smile at a time.
What little things do you like to do to put patients at ease? I understand that the dental office can be a scary place but, I put dental patients at ease by being a “Dental Whisperer,” calming fears with gentle hands and a reassuring smile. I try to transform that chair of dread into a throne, where your teeth get the royal treatment!

What do you like about DCGL? I really like working at DCGL. The reason I like this place is because of the people I work with! Also, all of our patients that we encounter are very nice and it feels like a family to me.
What little things do you like to do to put patients at ease? I try to learn about each patient personally. I try to carry on small conversations to find out where they are from, what they like to do, etc, and remember each patient. I like to make patients feel like I am one of their family and try to develop a sense of trust to show them I am here for them. I genuinely want to make my patients feel as comfortable as I can make them.

What do you like about DCGL? I like that my profession in dental hygiene at DCGL serves as a continuation of helping people maintain or reach optimal health. I get a lot of satisfaction when I can help someone smile with confidence!
Are there any myths you’d like to clear up about your job or dentistry? I love to share information about oral health and its effects on other parts of our bodies and systemic disease. Oral health can really make a difference in how people relate to the world around them, especially when they can smile with pride!

Any other thoughts? I’ve seen a lot over the past 15 years of working with DCGL, but I always see the patients with smiles on their faces.

We are just a group of people who all do our very best EVERY DAY to make our patients happy, leave with a smile and feel like they are part of the DCGL family too!

What do you do at DCGL? Business Assistant
What do you like about DCGL? I love that the patients are the first and the upmost priority here – we all genuinely care about what is in their best interests for their health and well-being.
What little things do you like to do to put patients at ease: : I actively try to greet and welcome our patients with genuine warmth, therefore setting a positive tone for their appointment the moment they walk through the door. I think that this can make a big difference in off-setting any dental anxiety or nervousness that is so common when coming to the dentist.
Are there any myths you’d like to clear up about your job or dentistry? I think a common myth about dentistry that can so easily be debunked here at Dental Care on Golf Links, is that Dentists are cold, harsh people and only care about the business. This couldn’t be further from the truth here with Dr. Hardy and Dr. Kahl! They are both very friendly and warm, and sincerely care about all their patients along with their well-being and treatment.
Any other thoughts? I’ve learned so much working in this office, but perhaps the biggest lesson I’ve learned thus far is just how important your oral health and hygiene is to your overall health! Great overall health starts with your mouth and how you take care of your oral hygiene directly impacts your overall well-being.
