Technology

Dental Care on Golf Links keeps abreast of technological developments in the dentistry industry. Each year, new products, new tools, and new procedures come along that enable dentists and hygienists to offer you an even better dental care experience, and improve the comfort, strength, and longevity of the work we do in your mouth.

Digital Impressions

We proud to announce our integration of the PlanScan chair-side digital scanner for ease, comfort, and optimal precision in recording digital tooth impressions. These impressions are electronically sent to a lab to fabricate crowns.

Digital impressions can be taken for all crown, bridge, and implant restorative needs, replacing the use of conventional impressions, which can be messy and uncomfortable. Conventional impressions may still be used, according to your unique situation.

This video illustrates the process of chair-side CAD/CAM crowns and what to expect during your visit.

Digital X-Rays

Dental Care on Golf Links - Using Technology for Better Dental Diagnostic

Digital x-rays have replaced legacy film methods.

They produce:

  • Improved image quality to aid the doctor identifying problems.
  • Lower doses of radiation
  • Digital records to improve communication with other dentistry specialists
  • Cleanliness, comfort, and time efficiency

Isodry

The Isodry system is often used during dental procedures to help isolate the area of the mouth your dentist is working in, to improve the quality of dentistry and your comfort.

Benefits include maintaining a clean, saliva free environment for dental work, as well as retraction of the tongue and cheek so your dentist can focus on fighting tooth decay… not your tongue.

Comfort advantages include:

    • A mouth rest, which enables you to stay open without straining your muscles.
    • Built-in suction to keep water (and other not-so-tasty byproducts of dental treatment) out of your throat and airways.

Intra-Oral Cameras

Dental Care on Golf Links Uses High Technology

Intra-oral cameras are wonderful tools that allow dentists to fully inform  patients on the condition of any given tooth, especially in hard-to-see places in the back of your mouth.

These photos benefit you, as our patient, as they show clearly why a treatment is recommended. You can then make well-informed decisions. Equally important, photos become a part of your dental records for future reference, and they help ensure your treatment is covered by insurance.
